Dublin Airport to Wicklow (in yellow)
We arrived at the Dublin Airport around 11:00 a.m., which was 3:00 a.m. Los Angeles time. David got a few hours sleep on the plane and I dozed a bit, but it was enough to let our bodies think that there was a night. |

Here we are, driving on the left on the motorway that encircles Dublin. It's one of very few "freeways" in Ireland. We left the airport and circled the city, driving south to the Wicklow area.

Just south of Dublin is a large estate named Powerscourt near a village called Enniskerry. The house was built from 1731 to 1743 on land owned by the Viscount of Powerscourt. The interior was completely burned in 1974 and is being restored.

Below are pictures of our hotel, Tinakilly House.
And the view from our third-story bedroom window. The Irish Sea is visible through the trees.

Tinakilly House was build by the English Govenment in 1883 for Captain Robert Halpin, Commander of "The Great Eastern" and mariner supreme who laid 2,600 miles of the transatlantic telegraphic cables in 1866, joining Europe to America.
